Our signature clutch, hand made from vintage 'obi': the sash worn with kimono at formal occasions.
A beautiful ‘botanical’ unfurls its bright orange petals across this deep red obi. Botan, the peony, is known as the king of flowers in Japan.
This obi is heavily embroidered with shades of silver and gold: it is Nishijin style of weave, a technique developed in an area of Kyoto around 1000 years ago.
This vintage Fukuro Obi was sourced from the Osaka area of Japan. It is approximately 40 years old, and in excellent condition.
