Our signature clutch, hand made from vintage 'obi': the sash worn with kimono at formal occasions.
This black silk obi is covered in bright red, gold, silver and metallic pastel blue pine leaves: pine is a strong and hardy plant so this symbolises resilience. Pine needles are often seen at Temples in Japan as they are believed to ward off evil spirits.
This vintage Fukuro Obi was sourced from the Osaka area of Japan. It is approximately 40 years old, and in excellent condition.
